Gọttorf, europäische Dynastie, eine Nebenlinie des in Dänemark regierenden Hauses Oldenburg; benannt nach ihrer Residenz Schloss Gottorf in Schleswig (erbaut nach 1161; Umbau im 16./17. Jahrhundert). Stammvater war Herzog Adolf I. (* 1526, ✝ 1586), ein Sohn von König Friedrich I. von Dänemark. Die Gottorp stellten 1544-1773 die Herzöge von Schleswig und Holstein (»herzogliches Anteil«; ab um 1565 selbstständiges Herzogtum Holstein-Gottorp). Eine Seitenlinie (Haus Holstein-Gottorp) regierte 1751-1818 in Schweden. Das Haus Romanow-Holstein-Gottorp (Romanow) kam in Russland 1762 mit Kaiser Peter III. an die Macht und herrschte bis 1917.
